Helen Griggs is the owner and founder of Nook Farm Honey. Helen has always loved bees and where better to keep them than in our part of Cumbria. Nook Farm is idyllic, surrounded by wildflowers and unspoilt countryside. Traditional livestock farming methods encourage the growth of Clover, Dandelion, Meadowsweet, Thistles, Rose Bay Willow Herb and many other native species that honey bees thrive on.
Helen lives and works at Nook Farm with her husband Duncan and their daughter Kate, plus a variety of different animals and resident wildlife. Nook Farm Honey bees live at locations throughout the local area of Northern Cumbria which is known as the forgotten lands or debatable lands. Rich in history and culture it is an ideal place to come on holiday if you enjoy outdoor activities or want to relax in beautiful surroundings.
We have long Winters and short Summers, Spring starts with Hawthorn blossom and the end of the season comes with the flowering of Heather in the forests and on the fells.
Nook Farm Honey is a producer of local Cumbrian honey and also sells honey sourced direct from UK beekeepers that we know personally and trust. All our raw honey is fully traceable meeting the highest standards, minimal filtering is carried out when required and the honey is never pasteurised. Basically you are buying a product that is natural, pure and supporting British bees and beekeepers.
